Boats and No’s, John C. Reilly discusses the chances of ever seeing a Step Brothers 2.
Whilst speaking with Screencrush to promote his current project The Sisters Brothers, John C. Reilly spoke of another sibling rivalry and delivered the news of a proposed sequel to his Will Ferrell team-up Step Brothers.
“This is everyone’s last question today. Literally every single person! There’s no Step Brothers 2. It’s not on the table. I would love to do it, we’ve talked about it, we have some great ideas for the sequel, but it’s not everyone’s first move to want to do a sequel. Most people like Will and Adam and I, we’re trying to do new stuff. We’re trying to find the next Step Brothers. That said, I really appreciate all the love people have for that movie. And I think we pulled it off in a way that we were all really proud of. I would definitely consider it, but you know, Adam has gone off and started to do really interesting dramatic things. I’m not sure what’s gonna happen, but it’s literally the million dollar question today.”
All is not lost with Ferrell & Reilly appearing together again however, with the two funny men set to take on the titular roles in Holmes & Watson due for release in the US on December 21st in what has been described as a comedic take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic mystery series.
Whilst this sounds like it could be fun, we here at Film ‘89 Towers are keeping our fingers crossed that somehow, someday we see the relaunch of Prestige Worldwide and the re-release of Boats & Hoes. Maybe we’ll pitch it at next years Catalina Wine Mixer.
