Danny Boyle said to be the current favourite to direct Bond 25.
Danny Boyle is reportedly at the top of the list to direct the next James Bond movie.
Variety reports that Eon Productions and MGM Studios want the director of Trainspotting & 28 Days Later to helm the 25th instalment of the Bond franchise.
Thought to have been a long held choice for Bond, the director was said to have been considered to direct both Skyfall (2012) & Spectre (2015). Boyle does in fact have a previous credit for directing Daniel Craig as Bond when he oversaw the 2012 opening ceremonies of the London Olympic Games, where Bond not only met the Queen, but ended up skydiving with her!
Christopher Nolan recently ruled himself out of the directing role of the (as of yet unnamed) project, as has Denis Villeneuve. Sam Mendes who was in charge of the last two movies has also ruled himself out.
Bond 25 is scheduled for a November 2019 release.
