Legendary actor Jerry Lewis dies aged 91.
American comedian and film legend Jerry Lewis has passed away aged 91. A statement from the actor’s family informed that he had passed away from natural causes at his family home in Las Vegas on Sunday morning.
Lewis starred in a multitude of hit movies and at one time was Hollywood’s highest paid actor with hits such as The Nutty Professor and will always be remembered for his long and fruitful acting partnership with Dean Martin which began in the late 1940’s but unfortunately ended bitterly.
Lewis scored notable success in 1983 when he appeared opposite Robert De Niro in Martin Scorsese’s incredibly underrated black comedy drama, The King of Comedy proving that he was capable of taking on serious, straight dramatic roles as opposed to his usual slap-stick comedy routine.
