Will The Silver Surfer be making an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War?
Whilst Marvel Studios’ forthcoming Avengers: Infinity War is already bursting at the seems with superheroes, it appears that there may be yet be another surprise character appearing with Metacritc now listing the actor Curt Clendenin as playing the space-travelling Norrin Radd, better known as The Silver Surfer as appearing in the upcoming superhero epic..
Whilst the character rights for Silver Surfer are still officially owned by 20th Century Fox, Disney’s recent accepted offer of a buyout could be playing a major part in this rumour. Whilst the deal has yet to be accepted by the Government Regulators, this could be seen as a major goodwill gesture on Fox’s part and Marvel have already set a precedent with their deal with Sony allowing Spider-Man to appear in Marvel Studios’ movies.
Last seen in 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and voiced by Laurence Fishburne (who recently teased that he was in talks with Marvel Studios), The Silver Surfer is perhaps one of Thanos’ biggest adversaries in the comic books and it would work for him to appear in the movie. Whilst this all might seem a bit like last minute conjecture, the character would presumably be a mostly CGI creation and perhaps a small scene has been added as a gateway of sorts to the oncoming Fox owned characters as they make their transition into the MCU.
Avengers: Infinity War opens in the U.K. April 26th and the US a day later.
